Date: October 11th, 2008, Noon to 4pm
We will be hard pressed to surpass the record
turnout of vendors and attendees that we had in 2007 but you
can be assured of a great time for a great cause again this
year. We will again have two categories of
events, one that follows the rules of CASI(Chili
Appreciation Society International) along with our local
competion which adheres to the policy, "Anything Goes;" There are two types of
judging for the local competition. First, the general public is allowed
to vote for the best chili in both professional and
amateur categories. A group of honorable judges
determine the best chili. For the CASI
competition, judges use a determined set of criteria to
decide the best chili. The judging. is so blind that not until
the judging is complete, do we know who has the best chili. Honey Horn is a great location for
our events and is located on the North end of the island where
the Cross Island Parkway meets William Hilton Parkway. Click
here for a
map
of how to find Honey Horn.
One ticket allows you to eat as much chili as you like.
Beverages are extra. Anti-acids are provided by Burkes
Pharmacy. Advanced tickets are
$10.00 and available through any Kiwanis
member, Burke's Pharmacy, The Coastal Discovery Museum,
The Internet Cafe in Coligny Plaza
or any location of NBSC or Wachovia bank. Tickets are also available at
the door for $12.00. Musical
entertainment has been provided by "Low Country Boil" and "Southwind"
in the past and an announcement will be made when we get
closer to the event.have provided the musical
entertainment.
